This is a beautiful set of three thinking men, carved out of soapstone. Each of the three has been carved out of a single piece of stone, so they have no joins. Their smoothness and form is bought about by manual rubbing the stone with and abrasive material and water, until it takes shape and feels as smooth as a warn beach pebble.
This set is very unique because it shows the different colors found in soapstone. One man is made of creamy white soapstone with naturally occurring pink, brown and orange highlights. Another man is made of orange soapstone with brown linear and speckled highlights. And the third man is made of pink soapstone with creamy white highlights.
Each of the three figures is 4 inches high and about 2 inches wide.
