This is a HUGE carved mask. Its sheer size draws your attention to it initially, when you give it a second look it will intrigue you, and you will be drawn into wondering what Musioka, the artist was thinking, and what it symbolizes.
The face’s unusual expression, makes this mask like no other. And its deep rich colors are highlighted by the bright white elephant’s tusks (made of cow bone, not real tusks!) protruding out of the caved elephant at the top. The colors on this mask are rich, warm and earthy colors, typical of Eastern Africa.
The mask has a course texture, and a matt finish. It would look beautiful hung in a living room or bedroom. This mask can also be used as a lampshade to cover a bulb, the gaps in the mask will create a truly inspiring ambiance. If you do not want to hang it, then this mask stands upright, and its colors will contrast beautifully near some green plants.
